Courthouse is the seat of Arlington County government: a 242-acre planning area of office buildings, apartment towers and townhouses around Court House Metrorail station. The county government center at 2100 Clarendon Blvd. and the Arlington County Justice Center are here. The county’s 2015 Courthouse Square addendum calls the area “a lively urban and transit-oriented village” and covers the roughly 10 acres at the center of the Metro station area.

Where it is

The planning area sits between Rosslyn to the east and Clarendon to the west. Arlington Boulevard (U.S. 50) forms much of its southern edge, Langston Boulevard (U.S. 29) part of its northern edge, 10th Street North part of its western edge and North Rhodes Street part of its eastern edge. Clarendon Boulevard, Wilson Boulevard, Fairfax Drive, North Courthouse Road, North Barton Street, North Veitch Street and 15th Street North run through it. About 93% of the area is in ZIP 22201 and 7% in 22209.

On the county’s civic association map, the area overlaps four associations: Clarendon-Courthouse, about two-fifths of the area, Radnor/Fort Myer Heights, Colonial Village and Lyon Village.
