About the markets

  • FRESHFARM Arlington describes itself as one of the largest markets in the region, with everything from farmstead goat cheese to pastured bison.
  • FRESHFARM Ballston sits in Welburn Square across the street from the Ballston Metro station. On the first Thursday of each month it holds a “Mega Market” with music, a beer and wine garden and giveaways.
  • FRESHFARM Rosslyn is a weeknight market close to the Rosslyn Metro station. Its last day this season is Wednesday, Oct. 28.
  • Cherrydale, Lubber Run and Fairlington are producer-only markets: everyone who sells grows, raises, bakes, cooks or prepares the food. Cherrydale, opened in 2021, and Lubber Run are run by Field to Table; Lubber Run was founded with the Arlington Forest Citizens Association.
  • Westover began in 2011, started by neighbors in the Westover neighborhood.
  • Columbia Pike runs in front of the Walgreens at 2820 Columbia Pike, and several of its vendors take online orders ahead of market day.
  • Fairlington, open since 2014, meets at the Fairlington Community Center. Parking in the center’s lot is free but limited; free street parking is on S. Utah Street, 32nd Street and Quaker Lane.
  • Green Valley meets Friday evenings in John Robinson Jr. Town Square in the Green Valley neighborhood. Its Oct. 9 market was paired with an Arlington County family night at the Charles R. Drew community center.

SNAP, WIC and senior checks

All FRESHFARM markets accept SNAP/EBT, WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program checks, and the FreshMatch program matches federal benefits dollar for dollar. Other markets set their own payment rules; ask at the market’s information tent.
