Arlington’s patios cluster in Clarendon and Courthouse, along Wilson and Clarendon boulevards between the two Metro stations, with others in Rosslyn, Ballston, on Washington Boulevard and in Crystal City. Fall evenings are cool, so check whether a patio is heated before you go.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Arlington, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 19, 2026. A place is listed only if its own site says it has a patio, outdoor seating or a beer garden; many places the map data marks as having outdoor seating say nothing about it on their sites, so they are not here yet. Barley Mac on Wilson Boulevard in Rosslyn serves happy hour on its patio and in its cocktail area from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and weekend brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Bronson Bierhall on Fairfax Drive in Ballston is a German-American beer hall. It held its Oktoberfest on the patio, with live music and a cask tapping, on Sept. 26.

Circa at Clarendon on Clarendon Boulevard is a bistro with seasonal food, a bar and what its site calls a spacious patio in the heart of Clarendon. It serves weekend brunch and a weekday happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m.

Courthaus Social on Clarendon Boulevard in Courthouse is a sports bar with a dog-friendly patio and room for 195 people outside, its site says. Happy hour runs 3 to 6 p.m. on weekdays, with trivia at 7 p.m. Wednesdays.

Fire Works on Clarendon Boulevard in Courthouse is a wood-fired pizzeria and bar with a heated patio and a patio bar. On Oct. 19 its site said it was closed while it recovered from a small fire; call first.

Lyon Hall on North Washington Boulevard, near the Clarendon Metro station, is a brasserie that lists indoor and outdoor full-service dining, with a daily happy hour.

Morton’s The Steakhouse on Crystal Drive is a steakhouse with a 120-seat dining room, Bar 12-21 and an outdoor patio, its site says. It lists a Power Hour from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday to Friday.

Northside Social on Wilson Boulevard in Clarendon is a coffee and wine house with indoor and outdoor seating and a daily happy hour from 3 to 7 p.m.

Rocklands Barbeque and Grilling Company on Washington Boulevard is a barbecue restaurant whose site says the Arlington building gave it room for a patio and a large bar. It hosts sports teams on the patio.

Screwtop Wine Bar on North Fillmore Street in Clarendon is a wine bar, cheese shop and restaurant with 12 bar seats and an outdoor patio. It serves weekend brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
